"I don't live in Texas. Can you still make a scrapbook for me?"

Yes, of course! Consultations are easy over the phone or even e-mail, and photos and journal entries are easily mailed. I have done albums for people from all over the United States.

"How do I decide what sort of album I want?"

Most people have WAY too many photos to make one album. The best way to approach it is to choose a purpose for the album and a theme. For example, I made an album for a client who wanted the entire first year of their daughter's life chronicled. Therefore, she only sent me photos of her daughter's first year. If the timeline is longer, as in a scrapbook for a graduation gift, the album might cover 18 years. For this, you'd want to choose a few photos that characterize each year of the graduate's life or schooling. I can help you determine a theme during the consultation, but it's best not to go into it thinking that all of your photos will go into one album. It's just not practical in terms of size, and the best scrapbooks are more focused in the story they tell.

"How many pages can my album be?"

Most albums will hold 30 pages comfortably, before there is any sort of strain on the page holders or bunching of the page sleeves. I like to use a lot of 3D elements on pages, and those increase bulk as well. If you would like more pages than that, I will recommend splitting the project into two or more albums.

"Will I get to see my scrapbook before it is finished?"

Typically, I layout the pages with photos first, and show them to the client for approval. This is usually before any significant design, cropping, or addition of embellishments. The visual check is mainly so that the client can see that progress is being made, and that the quality of work is at the level they expected. From there, I complete the album and the next time the client will see it is upon delivery.

"How long will it take to complete my scrapbook?"

Time to completion depends on a few factors. First, I typically work on client's scrapbooks in the order that I receive the materials. If there is a deadline to meet, I take that into consideration as well. In general, you can expect the process to last anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks.
